It’s quite difficult to think of something different to establish within the recruitment marketplace. However, I think jobsinasecond.com have filled a quite necessary gap in the market.
As far as I can tell it’s the UK’s first sms job matching service for part-time and temporary work. Lovely simple concept; employers (agencies or direct employers) post positions they are looking to fill, which are matched with candidates who fit the experience and location criteria. Within five minutes, those candidates receive a text message. If they’re interested, they text back, and jobinasecond then allows the employer access to the prospective employee’s short profile. They choose the most suitable candidate and the position is filled. At present it’s based in London with plans to launch around the UK in September.
