I recently got sent something which I think manages to combine funky and valuable in quite a unique way. Jeremy Snell of Zero Entropy (a recruitment training company) has developed some really cool “playing cards” which recruiters can use to develop their questioning skills. It’s an area of great importance in building credibility with clients and candidates and in ensuring placements are made. Each card is printed with a powerful questioning model to help recruitment consultants in business development, interviewing situations, asking for more referrals, etc. For example questions include “What are you expectations of…?”, “Would it be accurate to say…?” and “What’s been the most difficult…?” The cards also explain how and when to ask the question as well as some examples of phraseology.
The cards can be used by managers and team leaders as a coaching tool or to aid discussion during weekly sales meetings.
I think these a great for rookie recruiters and more the experienced who need to work on their questioning skills. Also, handy for a game on solitaire on that long (train) communte!
