1) Tomi Ahonen – Author, twitter fiend and consultant in mobile and media. In his book Mobile – the 7th Mass Media, Tomi was one of the first to identify the underlying shift from a networked to a connected society and he remains a prolific and insightful commentator.

2) Clay Christensen – Clay has written several must-read business books on innovation and reinventing business models, including The Innovators Dilemma which introduced his theory of Disruptive Innovation. His most recent book How Will You Measure Your Life? looks at why some high achievers are never content with their life. If you ever get the chance to see Clay speak, do it! I saw him at Dreamforce and can honestly say it was one of the most awesome presentations I’ve attended. Ever.

3) Chris Shambrook – A psychologist for the GB Rowing Team since 1997, Chris has just finished his fourth Olympic cycle with the incredible success of London 2012. The parallels between high performance in sport and business fascinate me and Chris brings these together in his work as a speaker and business coach.

4) Amelia Merrill – Quite simply, one of the nicest and most creative recruiters I know. Amelia is VP Talent Acquisition for Risk Management Solutions (RMS). Not only right there at the outer edge of innovation, she possesses the ability to transform creative ideas into workable solutions, such as the way RMS is featured in the game “Plague Inc”.

5) Arie Ball – The VP of Talent Acquisition at Sodexo, Arie is one of those remarkable people who take new info and immediately implement change, way before the rest of us even wake up to it. The Sodexo approach to headhunting internally is just one initiative she’s led that I’ve admired recently.

It’s a blog that analyses football games; not the results and the goals, but the tactical nuances deployed by each team. I find it fascinating to draw comparisons between football and corporate teams in terms of individuals working together in high performance units.
