The Recruitment Conference 2013 – Review

tweet2This week saw our Recruitment Conference take place in central London.  Over the course of 7 hours we had 14 sessions taking place covering all manner of recruitment related learning. We had nearly 150 attendees and the conference rooms were packed from start to finish.  If you missed the event watch out for the blogs we’ll be publishing from the team at BlueSky PR who went to every session, took studious notes, and will be sharing them here over the coming weeks.

tweet4Some highlights that attendees shared were (taken from our post event questionnaires):

* Roy Rippers 9 killer interview questions were fantastic, we use most already but picked up some new ones.
* Dan McGuire’s tips that you need to have a strategy and a ‘Due Diligence’ pack from day one of any business.
* Kevin Green’s insight into the difference between skills and talent shortage
* Advice from Kevin Green that recruiters should focus on SME’s and not work with government or public sector industries
and
* Everything that Andy Headworth said- what he doesn’t know about tech is seemingly not worth knowing! Some good tips about using google apps to make managing contacts more efficient

tweet6Plus there was a lovely active twitter stream using our events hashtag #recnet some of which you can see spread around this post.

In the last session we did the prize draw which saw Sarah Parascandolo, Senior HR Officer, EMEA from NACCO Materials Handling win the meal for two and Abigail Brown, Charu Malhotra and Tricia Roberts all win champagne.  It was certainly a lucky day for the ladies as Jenna Brown won the champagne from Arithon too!

tweet8Photos from the event are on our Facebook page and as soon as we have the video montage I’ll be sharing it here too.

So now, I’m onto events for 2014.  We’ll be running four Directors Only Events and three of our Recruitment Showcase events (where you can mix learning and many, often technology based, product demos in one day).  Get in touch if you want information on any of these.
