2008 National Online Recruitment Awards

Nora2008As I may have mentioned before I am one of the judges for the National Online Recruitment Awards (NORA).  The finalists were announced last week and we’ve seen a fair bit of follow up on the discussion board and this blog.

So, I’m (perhaps rather wimpishly) going to avoid discussion about the validity of the awards – except to say that I think that Stephen’s intentions are 100% honourable and that I can’t believe that he would be swayed by advertising bucks.

    LOL
Light the blue touch paper and stand well back!
Seriously though, as far as we know it’s down to one person who likes the look of various sites and puts them forward for an award. How he decides which site is better than another no one knows nor are the guidelines for that process set out clearly and the judges don’t know either, its blind faith!
These awards have been going for a few years now but they are run very much at an amateur level and in view of the recent controversy issues I suspect this will be the end of them unless they can restore confidence in the community by setting out some clear guidelines regarding the initial selection process.
