Gaining the Innovantage

This week in the newsletter I’m running a press release from Innovantage about their partnership with Market Location.  Innovantage provide recruitment intelligence and lead generation to the agency market in the UK.

Over the years there have been a few companies offering this type of service, however, as far as I know right now there is no one else in the UK offering this type of vacnacy finding information at this level of sophistication.

so I called up their MD, Matthew Dewstowe, to find out more.  And then I thought I might as well share it here:

Innovantage track online recruitment advertising via their “crawling” technology.  The softwar collects details of jobs that are posted across the internet.  They have historically concentrated on collecting jobs from employers websites (350,000 corporate sites in fact -a number which will grow with the recent integration of Market Location data) but are increasingly starting to collect from job boards. By the end of 2007 they plan to have the top 50 job boards in the mix.

The interesting bit, from their partnership with Market Location, is that they match the vacancy advertisers against a database of 1.7 million companies.  This menas you can look at one particular company see how they recruit online (eg, posted 50 jobs; 28 to their own site and the rest on to job boards) AND see company data such as contact numnbers, names of key decision makers, employee number, financial data, etc.

The system can tell a recruiter who is recruiting, where they are recruting, who you speak to and even who you speak to and how to contact them.

The product is geared towards accelerating lead generation and business development.  Typically a recruiter will set up a profile on their target industry and  geographic location.  They will get an email alert every day with the new jobs posted by potential clients.  Clicking through on the mail displays not only details of that specific vacancy but further information on the company to better inform the sales call.  Allowing them to make a more informed sales call and differetiate themselves from the competition.

They are currently UK focussed but have plans to integrate data from outside the UK in the next 6 to 12 months.  The cost is £450 per month for an entry level account (for up to five users).  They also offer a three month trial for £999.

The vast majority of existing customers are contingency recrutiers but they do have a few using the data to help with headhunt activities.

I also think this could be a useful account management tool for search and selection consultants.  You could track the activity of all your clients for just £450 per month. You may find that despite being on the PSL there are roles being filled internally that you could help with, or requirements outside your normal area of operation that you have the perfect individual for.
