Early in the New Year we will be announcing the winners of the UK Recruitment Blog of the Year 2016. Just before Christmas we published a list of the 25 blogs making up the finalists.
Whilst all this was going on Alex and I were talking about what makes a great blog POST and we challenged ourselves (well, actually I challenged her mostly) to find half a dozen blog posts we had really enjoyed during the course of this year. 6 Recruiting Tactics That Just Don’t Work – Business News Daily spoke with recruiting and career experts about outdated and otherwise ineffective tactics for finding job candidates and popped it all in one blog article.
8 Do’s and Don’ts for Your First Conversation With a Passive Candidate – comprehensive yet succinct tips from Lou Adler
9 Types of Unconscious Bias and the Shocking Ways They Affect Your Recruiting Efforts – Siofra from Social Talent rather nicely looks at what is unconscious bias and why is it influencing your recruiting decisions.
Finally – Ladies in recruitment, please save the boob shots for facebook, you’re worth way more than that – this blog post from Jo Walker was the most popular article in our newsletter this year. I’d like to think this was for all the right reasons!
