This year we are running four Directors Only Learning events.
Last week saw the second in our calendar, with around 60 Directors in attendance. The subject was “Getting your own house in order for business success” and we had our very own Helen Reynolds (see below chatting with Paul) talking about the use of staff questionnaires followed by Caroline Crampton Thomas of the NatWest Mentor Team. Caroline talked about issues such as how to manage internal conflict, employment Law procedures and best practice along with some common legal misconceptions. After those sessions we introduction a new feature to our events which was a “group learning experience”. Basically attendees split into small groups and moved their chairs around to discuss some ways to motivate staff without the use of financial reward. Luckily we had Roy Ripper on hand to manage the lively session. We then moved into a networking break (with amazing RBS cakes – see photo evidence!). Our final session of the day was run by Paul Sansbury who is Managing Director MRL Ventures. His candid presentation went down extremely well with the audience.
In our networking break we ran the usual “speed networking” as a way for even the most nervous networkers to make fresh contacts. It’s also a great opportunity to chat with sponsors (at this event we had Broadbean, Fish4, Juice TDP, Bullhorn Reach and NowWeComply). We are also lucky to have Cast Recruitment Video supporting us throughout 2012 with their film crew (you can see content from the last event on our YouTube Channel).
Feedback has been great with 100% on post event questionnaire respondents answering yes to “did you enjoy the event”
