In just four days (October 1 2006) the new Age Discrimination law will come into force. As the name suggests the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations make it illegal for employers to discriminate against employees or job seekers because of their age. The REC conducted a survey a few weeks ago and found that only 21 per cent of recruiters who responded were fully prepared for the changes the law will have on their business; with another 29 per cent saying they will ensure they are prepared before the 1st October. Where does that leave the other 50 per cent of members?
