Again, this year, I’ve not been watching The Apprentice. I know I probably should but I just can’t face watching egotistical sales people displaying their appalling lack of sales skills, slating each other and arse covering on a weekly basis (I shall avoid the obvious and crass joke about that being why I stopped working for a recruitment consultancy!).
However, I need not fear as I can keep updated with Gavin Ingam’s superb weekly roundup on his blog, by following the #apprentice tag on Twitter and of course popping over to The Apprentice Blog (written by the lovely Stephen O’Donnell).
Even without giving up an hour of my time every week I know that …. now that the deadwood has been removed, we are left with six candidates of varying skills. In order of preference (lowest first) we have; Debra, scheming and abrasive; Howard, creative but limp; Lorraine, clever and charmless; James, enthusiastic and capable; Kate, brains and beauty (apparently); and lastly Yasmina, effective, businesslike and direct. I’m backing Yasmina to win, over Kate, in the final. (I have to be honest here and admit that Stephen might have helped me out with this analysis a tiny bit!).

I loved your first paragraph Louise.. summed up my views entirely. The more reality tv like it seems to have become (don’t watch it) the more popular it seems to get. I guess a group of relatively capable, challenging and hard working people would make dull tv, shame.
Completely agree with the first paragraph. In the early series of the apprentice, it was enticing, business like and reality tv with real people with real business ambition. Since the infamous Ruth Badger, the candidates don’t really want the job, they just want to be famous making it a 2nd rate big brother.
