How to do a “social campaign”

Jobsite have recently conducted a fab bit of research around job satisfaction. The first thing which caught my attention was that they surveyed 1000 people. That’s a pretty impressive sample group. According to the survey (which they blog about here):

* 70% say their ‘9-to-5 buddies’ are crucial to enjoy a happy working life
* Two thirds of people would turn down a job offer with pay-rise to stay working with people they liked and respected.
* Men are less concerned with getting on with colleagues than women are
* 65% say being happy at work makes them more productive in their job

The second thing which caught my attention is that they are taking the survey one step further with a “9-to-5 buddies” competition (you take a photo of your “buddies” and upload it to Jobsite’s Facebook page or on Twitter or Google+ including the hashtag #9to5buddies). It’s a really great way to capitalise on an already interesting survey and with prizes of £250’s worth of drinks/food it’s going to attract some interest.

If I actually had a workplace buddy I’d take a photo myself but nowadays I work alone.  So above and right are a couple from my last real workplace. Ah, I miss those days 🙂
