Earlier this week we held our latest Directors Only event at the RBS offices (with Arithon, Monster, Logic Melon, LinkedIn and Talent Puzzle sponsoring). These events are small group learning and networking events specifically for Directors of recruitment businesses.
This one, with around 60 Directors in attendance, looked at The Recruitment Trinity; New Clients, New Revenue Streams and More Profit. We were joined by Paul Mitchell, Director and General Manager of SkyBlue, Russell Clements, Chairman of Oyster Partnership and ex Chief Executive of the hugely successful SThree Group and Jeremy Thornton, Founder of Oasis HR and the HR Think Tank Series.
We also ran a group learning exercise around the challenges recruitment businesses are facing at present. The main ones brought out were:
- quality candidate skills shortages
- Internal employee skill shortages
- the problems of handling large amounts of data/tracking “candidates”
- Using technology (specifically mentioned LinkedIn) to improve business processes.
What was really interesting about this is that our next two events focus on lots of these issues! our July Directors event is on the subject of “Finding and Retaining Great Staff for your recruitment business” and in June you can spend the afternoon with 20 recruitment technology providers; learning sessions, technology debate and informal networking time with our sponsors at our Recruitment Technology Showcase event.
