Talent Analytics and Passive Talent

jobsthewordIt’s not often I see “new technology” which actually excites me.  However, having had a demo last week I really like what the guys at JobsTheWord are able to offer to recruiters.

Words like “Artificial Intelligence” and “big data” are often used in a jumble of nonsense to disguise a product which actually offers no more than any other CRM or analytical tool.  However, again, with JobsTheWord (JTW) this all does something really great.

This is the boring bit for anyone who wants it….Prescriptive analytics automatically synthesizes big data, multiple disciplines of mathematical sciences and computational sciences, and business rules, to make predictions and then suggests decision options to take advantage of the predictions. Down to the good stuff – JTW have built an analytics tool to help HR and recruitment businesses get a clear overview of their recruitment process with the ability to make informed decisions around what line of action to take.  It can help corporate with some of the common challenges such as time to hire, cost per hire, cost to company and quality of hire.

They have a massive database of over 11 million UK profiles and 270 million worldwide, which will be available on the next launch of the analytics later this month. The sources are from across the social web including forums and blogs and ultimately 1000’s of other data points where people leave information about themselves.  They are also able to give competitor analysis on other Corporate clients that are advertising in the UK by going out to millions of Career site pages and updating daily.

This is an example of how you might use it..

a) Do a search for your ideal candidate (the system uses machine learning and AI to suggest other job titles and skills you might want to include).

b) The results then showing breakdown of candidates that match criteria and supply and demand with other companies hiring (how cool is it to know how much of a needle in a haystack situation you have).

c) Further drilling down into each location you can then see companies who are hiring the people you are looking for and the location against the map as well.

d) The level of detail is amazing. In each region you get a breakdown of information as shown below, this can be down to postcode proximity and is the “top level” overview of that region.

Part of the analytics that shows, average salary range across the UK and also supply and demand.

e) you can also see Top Universities that the talent pool went too – which might help you understand further where you may want to target

f) Finally with each search completed we will also provide data around which companies that hire the profile you are looking for – which is great if you have a candidate you want to spec in.
