In our tech enabled world, there’s no shortage of data. As a recruitment business you have reams of client and candidate details, information relating to key accounts, prospects, the sectors you specialise in, potential markets, consultant and team performance, fill rates, open jobs…..the list is (pretty much) endless. Here Mark Hodgkinson from Erecruit shares his thoughts on the Dashboard Recruiter…
So how can you make sure you don’t get sidetracked by the detail and miss the bigger picture? Here’s our top tips on how to harness your data to drive your day-to-day and longer term strategic business decisions:
Less is more. Pre GDPR, quantity of data trumped quality. Agencies traded on the size of their database. Now it’s all about real-time access to the data. Cleaning out your CRM of old data allows you to view what matters faster: available candidates and clients and companies that you speak to frequently and whose details are up-to-date. Forget FOMO and dump the records that bring no value. With fewer invalid contacts in your CRM you will have clearer visibility of your hot candidates and jobs.
Make your data work for you. By choosing what’s important to your business and the success of a consultant’s desk you can configure dashboards to serve up the data you need for daily activities. Smart workflows will enhance productivity and encourage proactive behaviour and best practice. Less time is wasted when you know which companies to call, at what time for optimum results, when you can see which candidates are available for work, and the status of open jobs. Searching and sourcing is easier with clean data presented back sliced and diced in a visual format.
Empower your consultants. It’s likely the majority of your consultants are digital natives who expect technology to be at the centre of their working lives – just as they do outside the office. Give them the tools to succeed and manage their own data. They have no fear of formula editing, charting or mapping data. Allowing them to analyse their own performance metrics will drive better accountability and engagement. The nirvana is having them engage with your recruitment software and CRM, not just using it because they’ve been told to.
