The Independent Recruiting Group – update

Irg2I wrote about the IRG a while back.  Well, some things have changed over there and I thought I ought to share the update.

The IRG is a “Social Enterprise community” of small independent recruitment agency owners. They've been going since January 2010, and in that time have grown to over 120 member firms. The idea behind the enterprise is that members will find comfort in the fact that they are no longer alone in the market – they have the support of their fellow members behind them. They collaborate, share ideas, share opinions, share jobs and candidates, learn from each other, save money through group purchasing power, and the best bit…. they charge no membership fees whatsoever.

They don’t see themselves as a professional body in that they support each other from within; everyone is in the same boat.

If you want any more information take a look at the content on their www.irg-uk.com and www.irg-socialise.com websites.  They have plans in place to launch new marketing and PR initiatives over the next month, and intend to see member numbers grow to over 300 early next year.

Their aim; to become the true voice of the small independent agencies.

  1. Thanks for your kind words of support Louise.
As always, we hugely appreciate it, and I hope that any independent agency reading this blog will now be encouraged to visit http://www.irg-socialise.com and sign up.
There really are no catches! Yes, we are all a very cynical bunch being recruiters, but believe it or not – there will never be any membership fees! Everyone working with The IRG gives their time voluntarily – it’s our way of giving back to the industry which we have all worked in for a significant amount of time.
If anyone is still unsure, please do send me an email via sean.c@irg-uk.com and I’ll be glad to answer any questions you may have.
Once again, thanks hugely for the mention Louise, and best of luck with everything going forward.

  2. Great Blog, thanks Louise, we all at IRG are very passionate and dedicated to the cause of collaboration and support to our fellow independent niche boutique recruiters.
Clients and Candidates are already asking about the IRG and the message is very powerful, we can work together and share best practice, and make a difference to the Recruiting experience for both candidate and client, which can only be for the greater good going forward, Carpe Diem

  3. Thanks for mentioning us Louise, and It was a great idea from Sean to develop IRG and I beleive that the IRG will develop organincally as the word spreads about us, we are not KPI driven and we work with a passion about recruitment which makes a difference to both clients and candidates alike.
I have just taken on the South East – Regional Director role for IRG if you want to catch up for a coffee and have a chat do let me know.

  4. Having been a member of the IRG from early this year, it has been great to see it grow to 120 members already, all of us being Directors of our own small businesses, although this is just the beginning! It is such a great group of people, all like minded and supportive of each other, I am glad to be a member and look forward to seeing even more benefits as we grow.

  5. IRG have given us a network and a voice as small independent recruiters that we otherwise would not have – many of us are working with very large organisations and find great value in having a ‘safe’ network to bounce ideas and share with.
