Many recruitment software systems’ search facilities are a trade-off between quantity and quality. With improved technology there are now systems available that can achieve both effortlessly. I’ve had a look at the eBoss system and was impressed by the accurate results it can produce no matter how large or small the database. Searches can be based on anything from one criteria to a long string of criteria again with no impact on accuracy. Saved searches mean they only need to be created once.
The facility is so quick and easy to use that eBoss boasts that its clients have cut their on-boarding and search time in half. And after seeing the powerful semantic search facility in action, I can understand how agencies are making impressive time savings while improving client service at the same time.
Consultants begin a search by entering a job title to view how many candidates they have with that as a current or past job title. Those candidates with the most number of years’ experience will appear at the top of the list. If the consultant would like to widen the search, they can request to see a list of job title synonyms and deselect any that don’t fit. This is a great feature for a consultant not massively familiar with a particular role. If a minimum number of years’ experience is required for the role, this can be one of the selection criteria. A summary of a CV can be accessed for a quick read through with relevant areas highlighted so consultants don’t need to spend a large amount of time downloading and reviewing each CV. The summary or full CV can appear instantly on screen for review.
Agencies can protect their client relationships by choosing to deselect any candidates who are previous employees of a client. All employers from a large search can even be displayed as a tag cloud and any employers deselected with the click of a button, this is a great visual tool for consultants. Consultants don’t have to remember what values they used in a search as the criteria is available for viewing from the same screen as the list of candidates.
Some eBoss users who have long term relationships with clients are using the search facility to build valuable talent pools for their clients. Once the search has been set up, consultants can be automatically advised when a new candidate submits a CV via the website that matches the criteria. The daily email advice means a consultant can contact a candidate immediately or start communications via text, email or enewsletter. Being able to create these up to date talent pools, in a market where recruiters need to create competitive advantage, is a big plus of this system.
No longer do consultants need to ask colleagues if they have seen any candidates come in recently with a particular skill set. If they set up and save a search for exactly what they are looking for, they can use the eBoss system to do the hard work for them. Consultants can be reassured that if the system finds a match, they will be notified tomorrow and in years to come. At any time, the search can be modified or if no longer needed, deleted with no impact on the candidates details on the database.
CRMs like eBoss do free up consultants’ time to take on more vacancies and make more placements. As with many providers looking at eBoss’ pricing, they have three different plans – silver, gold and platinum where you choose which features your agency will get the most benefit from.
We are doing a bit of work with eBoss at the moment and plan to do another blog looking at some of the most time consuming aspects of a recruiter’s job. In the meantime if you want to see a demo or set up a free trial of the system you can contact eBoss via their website ebossrecruitment.com or call 020 7183 1577.
