- I want to share some of the information that came out of Enhance Media’s conference. However, with nine presentations during the day, you can imagine how much material there is.
I’m going to pick out a few key facts and figures from each speaker’s presentation. I’ll start with Alastair Cartwright as he was the first to speak.
- The UK online advertising market was worth £917.2 million in the first half of 2006. That’s a 40% increase on a like for like basis on the first half of 2005. If you include new contributors the increase is 45%.
- Internet advertising accounted for 10.5% of the total advertising market between January and June 2006 and drives the whole market. The total advertising market growth is 1.4% and internet advertising growth is 40.3%
- Only 15% of the UKs workforce is actively looking for a job. Therefore, restricting your recruitment advertising to job board and press means you miss out on 85% of the working population.
- Methods to attract and communicate with passive candidates: Social networking (One in 20 web visits goes to a social networking site, eg, LinkedIn), Search Engine advertising, Blogs, Podcasts, RSS and Videos.
