Google has just released a new product which allows you to build your own search engine. I’ve spent just 15 minutes putting together the basics of a search engine to cover the UK Recruiter databases of supplies and job boards.

It’s only searching our directories (job boards, cv databases, salary survey providers, recruitment software companies, etc) rather than the entire site (eg, the archives for the newsletter). I’m still deciding if I should cover the whole lot. But I just couldn’t wait to share the news as to how easy it was to set up.
The only negative (that I’ve noticed so far) is that it’s created the world’s most cumbersome url (well maybe not the worst in the entire world – but it is nearly 100 characters long!)
