I‘ve been looking at a “resume visualization” offering from ResumUP.com. The idea of the site is that allows you to produce an infographic type CV to promote your skills/experience based on your LinkedIn or Twitter profile. They think it could be an effective way of self promotion which can help job seekers get hired more quickly.
First off, it’s in Beta so probably has a few glitches and secondly it’s always ever so easy to criticise something new like this (especially as when I created my own profile it said I was male!!!) so I won’t.
I quite like the idea. It might fit in nicely with more creative types (who may already be looking at showcasing themselves on sites like Pinterest). I think the downside is that it would need to be used alongside a standard CV meaning more work for recruiters at the screening stage. When I created my profile it became apparent that only having had two jobs in 20 years is really rather dull although perhaps for a contractor it would look a bit sexier.
Would be interested to see how recruiters think it could be used and if seeing profiles in this format would enhance their recruiting experience – or just annoy them!
I really like the idea and have been thinking of developing something similar myself for a while. As a recruiter this is definitely another interesting selection tool that I could get candidates to do in order to better aid selection for my clients, especially at graduate level.
Atlast some creativity opted for resumes’ looks exciting, really liked the idea though. Normally a recruiter spends 6 to 8 seconds on a resume, but with the help of resumeup these few seconds can fill a recruiter with atleast a birdseye view of the candidates career.

I really like the idea for this. I have been thinking about making infographic job adverts for a while now, so now trying to find ways to adapt.
