After my fleeting visit to the Recruitment Agency Expo last Wednesday I hot-footed it across London with Lisa Jones to spend the afternoon at #truLondon. What has been traditionally two days was crammed into one day with up to three 40 minute tracks running consecutively. As always with Bill the dress code was casual, there were no name badges or powerpoint and there was an air of slight confusion from some attendees wandering aimlessly. However, having previously studied the track list I knew what I was there for and when! In addition to the tracks there was a “show and tell” area with over a dozen tech companies talking about their products. Due to clashing schedules, bumping into old friends and general noise I missed all of these but with the help of Bill I will be endeavouring to give them all some coverage of the blog at a later date.
If you want to get a feel for the event you can check out the tag board I’ve pulled together from the event – showing all usages of the #truLondon hashtag across LinkedIn and Twitter.
There is also a summary from Matt Charney – Recruitment Blogging: #TruLondon Takeaways – Matt hosted the blogging track I attended and has shared some of the main points he covered in the session. Within the blog I love his description of the venue as the “dregs of a basement conference room” (to be honest I’ve been in worse!)
Tim Burnett, Solutions Consultant at Lumesse has done a full Tru London review of the tracks he attended.
Additionally take a look at the graffiti boards that were created on the day to visualise the main touch-points of the discussions.
I may have only been at #truLondon for a few hours this time but it was great to catch up with so many people and get at taste for live conversations in the recruitment space.
