I’ve not done an interview on here for years. However, when I was contacted about Stuart Rea I was up for a conversation and to share details of his new job board.
Stuart Rea, International Sales Director at theExMILITARYjob.com has an ex-military background himself serving in the Duke of Edinburgh Royal Regiment over 20 years ago. Being ex-military he is extremely passionate about helping his comrades back into work which instigated the launch of theExMILITARYjob into the TipTopJob group.

Why is it so important to consider recruiting ex-military now more than ever?
Now that British Troops have been withdrawn from Afghanistan, and the size of the UK Forces is decreasing until 2020, there is an opportunity to assist our wounded, injured and sick as well as regular servicemen and women find second careers and a new life after their lives in the Services.
What are the most common transferable skills?
Ex-military can bring so much to a company but the actual transferable skills will vary depending on what role the individual has come from. e.g. if the person was a Physical Training Instructor (PTI) they could easily transfer to a Personal Trainer role or if the individual was in the Royal Military Police they could easily transfer to being a Security Officer.
Wherever they have originated from, ex-military staff can always bring fantastic communication skills, time keeping, organisations and commitment, great problem solving skills, analytical and team working abilities. Ex-military have the ability to think on their feet, remain composed under pressure and how to take instruction without question.

Why wouldn’t you? For all the reasons we have mentioned above really. If you can keep your hair whilst all others are losing theirs in stressful situation you are a born leader. Those with a military career have life experiences that others cannot bring to the table. Plus they will always remain honest and upright citizens.
Having already risked life and limb keeping our shores safe from terror, we feel these guys have proved their metal, shown their hand and proved themselves to be any asset to any workforce by sheer virtue of signing up to the services.
