Can Machines replace Recruiters? Notes from the #RecHangout

Earlier today we hosted a RecHangout with the title of Can algorithm do a better job of matching the right candidates with the right jobs?  This is a regular show we do hosted by Alan Whitford (RCEuro / Abtech Partnership), Louis Welcomme (Colleague Software)and Mark Stephens (Smart Recruit Online).  Our guests were

Jakub Zavrel, owner of semantic recruitment technology business, Textkernel

Dr Gorkan Ahmetoglu, Lecturer of Business Psychology at University College London and principle at Meta Profiling Ltd

Darshana Narayanan, Head of Research at Pymetrics.

It was a really great show with some super smart guests.

You can watch the show here:

Here are some blogs which I think nicely back up and continue on from some of the points discussed:

To end I’ll paraphrase from our show wrap up… “Can algorithms do it better than recruiters? That’s the wrong question -it should be what kind of tools can recruiters use to make them work better and improve the candidate experience”.  I don’t think we are going anywhere just yet but it’s probably not too sensationalist to say embrace the tech or die!

Our next hangout will be in August and details will be here soon.
