We are going to be working a lot more closely with CV-Library around their vast amount of data and research capabilities in the very near future. However, whilst chatting with them I came across this fabulous white paper entitled “What Candidates Want from Recruiters in 2016“.
Earlier this year their research, resulting from a survey of over 5,000 candidates from a variety of demographic groups, provided unparalleled access to the burning question on every recruiter’s mind ‘what do candidates really want out of the recruitment process?’ Here are some of my highlights:
When looking for new talent it’s important to use a quality job board in conjunction with a variety of other tools, such as LinkedIn and industry networks. But when it comes to advertising jobs, searching for candidates and promoting a company brand, a job board is the ultimate tool and is the first port-of-call for over a third of job hunters.
Just as recruiters ask candidates to fully prepare ahead of the interview, they should also make time to prepare. Key elements of preparation should include fully reviewing a candidate’s CV, knowing the job specification of the role they’re applying for and creating a
list of important questions ahead of the interview. Remaining professional and assessing how candidates respond to certain interview questions can help recruiters to perfect the process over time. These small adjustments to interview techniques could make all the difference to both recruiters and candidates.
