Short but sweet blog today, from Danielle Mills, as part of our Recruiting Weekly series. Danielle has over 15 years recruitment experience and describes herself as Recruitment Drama Queen (minus the Drama). She joined me on some of my recent jobseeker chat shows.
If you’re recruiting for your business but you’ve not managed to find THE ONE as yet, it could be down to the way you’re advertising the position…
It’s usually only a few small changes that need to be made in order for you to get some better results.
? Is the job title easy to understand and in line with the role? Don’t forget your applicants are scrolling through ALL the vacancies and self-qualifying as they go…
? Have you advertised a salary or left it as ‘negotiable’ or ‘competitive’? I’d understand why you would do this, to leave it open but this CAN put applicants off applying…
? Are you showing all that you OFFER as an employer – or just what you NEED from someone? You have to make your vacancy as attractive as possible – why should your dream hire decide to leave the job they’re in now, to join you?
A few things to think about.
It can be a bit overwhelming, to recruit, I get that. (Been there! ?)
If you need a hand with this then feel free to drop me a line. I’ve got a free job description template with guidance notes etc. that I’m happy to send you, to get you started.
Your ideal candidate IS out there!
(Promise.)

If you want to contact Danielle she’s very active on LinkedIn so I’d start there.
