This month’s google+ hangout was talking about “The Modern Recruiter: Content Creator, Story Teller And Advert Writer? ” and it was one of our most interesting hangouts yet.
Our guests were
* Mervyn Dinnen, Content Marketing & Social Engagement Strategist and resident blogger for Broadbean Technology and Monster UK.
* Mike Powell, Head of Sales at CV Library Ltd
* Glenn Southam, Marketing Manager at Staffgroup
Our host this month was Mark Stephens (Technology in Recruitment Alliance and founder of the F10 Group) and Louis Welcomme (Colleague Software) kept on top of the technology whilst also sharing some of his thoughts.
It was a really interesting debate with everyone sharing insight. You can watch the hangout here:
These are some blogs you may find useful alongside the hangout:
- 3 Top SEO Tips to Optimise Your Job Adverts (according to Mike Powell, on the hangout, you should use the job title five times in each advert)
- 10 Super Awesome Job Adverts – probably a bit OTT for the average recruitment campaign but worth a look
- Has there ever been a worse opening to a job ad than this? and Nicely Packaged Empty Boxes – from Mitch Sulllivan
- Glenn Southam’s LinkedIn update about the hangout – with 25 comments so far!
- 7 Key Ingredients for Recruitment Content That Work – written by Mervyn Dinnen for the Broadbean site
- Using Blogs As A Strategic Recruiting Tool
- 7 Things To Know Before You Start Your Recruitment Blog – written by Katrina Collier who is a UK Recruiter Blogger of the Year (as is Mervyn)
- Bloggers, Brand Journalists and The Importance of Content and Brand New Year. Same Old Recruitment Content? – both by Mervyn who knows a LOT about content!
The main takeaways our guests wanted viewers to go away thinking about were to ensure you express your own personality in your content , to make the most of the opportunity to compete via the content and stories you tell and to try a variety of media (ie, video, webinars, infographics, blogging, etc).
Our next hangout will be in late July and details will be here soon.
