Last Wednesday we held a Recruiters Networking Event after a gap of nearly three years. It was hosted by Broadbean. Dan and Ricky did a fantastic job in pulling the event together with two fantastic speakers (plus Dan himself). The venue (One Leicester Square, London) was superb and I know that everyone appreciated the free drinks provided by Jobster and Broadbean.
The speakers were Anne Swain from ATSCO, Jason Goldberg from Jobster and Dan McGuire from Broadbean. Anne talked about how networking gives companies the opportunity to work together to provide a stronger service offering to clients. Jason talked about what motivated him to set up Jobster and what he hopes to achieve from his passion in the business. Dan spoke (with a great deal of enthusiasm!) about how recruiters, employers and job boards can all work better. I hope to be able to share some footage of some of the presentations on the blog later this week. We had around 100 attendees to the event and all the feedback I’ve taken so far has been positive.
It was great to meet up with old friends like Alan Whitford, Mike Taylor, Lee Biggins, Marc Jones and Stephen O’Donnell. It’s always great to put a face to a name with people who’ve I’ve “known” for year’s but never really met, like Wendy Cowell from Jobserve. I also met loads of really interesting people who I’d never spoken to or met before. In fact I think that my experience sums up what many people hope to get out of these networking events.
After the success of last Wednesday’s event we are hoping to re-establish regular networking events. Perhaps holding one sometime in February/March next year.
If you want to see all the photos from the event they are up on the Broadbean networking site at . You can register for information on the next event (when we’re sorted the date) here.
