Imagine a drumroll here…. I’m delighted to be announcing the winners of this year’s blog awards.
But firstly, this year’s awards are again a joint effort of organisation and judging. The judging panel consisted of me, Andy Headworth, Peter Gold and Mervyn Dinnen. Jobsite have sponsored the awards and will be handing out the prizes.
i) the blogger has to be an active recruiter.
ii) the blogger has to have posted something on their blog in the past month.
iii) The blog has been around for at least six months.
In-house as well as agency bloggers were welcome.
We got 148 nominations for the awards. After removing the duplications and those which did not meet criteria we were down to 23 finalists.
The criteria we used to judge included…..
– Quality of writing (is it interesting/engaging, no typos, do posts finish with a call to action, etc)
– Volume of posts
– Blog design (descriptive blog name, picture of blogger to engage readers, easy navigation, clear explanation of purpose, etc)
– Post content (do they include text, images and video)
– About the Blogger Page (links to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, contact, details, enough “about me” information)
– Sign-up options
So, onto the winners…. The winner of the Corporate Winner – Recruitment Blog of the Year 2012 is….. The Source Blog
The Source Blog is a lovely mix of posts from Source’s employees. Covering topics around “effective recruiting”, “building your career”, “industry leaders insights” and “retaining great staff”. The Jobsite winners trophy will shortly be on its way to the team at Source. Massive congratulations to Source, it’s great to see a “company” blog contributed to by the whole team and really showcasing the business.
The winner of the Individual Winner – Recruitment Blog of the Year 2012 is…. Recruiter Claire
Claire is an in-house recruiter who has been working in the “pure recruitment function” for 2 years. Her blog is a lovely mix of all manner of topics and shows perfectly how you can work for a corporate and still blog as an individual
Finally. there is a “highly commended” site I want to mention and that’s Ed Scrivener’s Blog which won last year and was a very close runner up this year.
I hope be able to post pictures in the New Year of the Source team and Claire with their lovely trophy from Jobsite.
Thank you to everyone who nominated, to my super judges and to jobsite for sponsoring the awards. It’s great to see recruiters making the most of blogging.

Gutted that I didn’t place in the running but congratulations to the winners. Recruitment Claire has a nice turn of phrase and Ed’s blog is always worth a read through. Well done all!
