Have you turned into a Lazy Recruiter?

juicetdp_marchI’ve just been watching this video from the chaps at JuiceTDP. It made me think about how many recruiters, with more than a couple of years of experience, can become a bit too laid back! Do you remember having enthusiasm, a positive attitude and some level of desire to get out of bed in the morning?! Have you lost that drive and fallen into bad habits?

If so I’ve got a few tips for you…

1. Re-learn some of those skills by teaching. You might think it’s a waste of your precious billing time but the benefit of mentoring a junior recruiter is that it reminds you what you should be doing and what you shouldn’t!

2. Don’t overcomplicate things. Work smarter not harder (cheesy but true!)

3. Perform the right actions. Stop making excuses; do some new business calls, call clients for referrals and recommendations, etc. You are probably out of the habit of doing some of these things – make it part of your daily/weekly plan.

Basically lose the complacency and get your drive back. You’ll perform better, enjoy your job and earn more £££

By the way, there’s loads of other lovely material on the JuiceTDP site if you want it…

  1. Hi Louise,

I think it obviously depends on the recruiter but these are some really good points for any that may have lost enthusiasm or motivation for what it is they do. I
especially like the first point about re-learning through teaching someone who
wants to become a recruiter – it’s a two-way street of them helping the junior
    and the junior helping them.
