Preventing workplace discrimination – an infographic guide for employers

Recent research carried out by Fisher Jones Greenwood (FJG) to gauge the prevalence of discrimination in the workplace revealed almost 20% of people have experienced discrimination of some type during their career.

Intrigued by this, in conjunction with FJG we brought you a quiz which tested our readers’ knowledge of discrimination at one of the most crucial and complex stages for both employers and employees – recruitment.

Our results, from over 200 readers, showed some interesting insights. It highlighted that often the discrimination slip ups which happen at interview stage are due to a lack of education regarding what can and cannot be asked of a candidate, and offered employers advice on ensuring a discrimination-free interview.

But what about discrimination after the interview, during an individual’s employment at your business? In order to ensure that employers do not fall foul of discrimination issues, FJG has created an infographic which highlights the core elements of discrimination, as well as advice for minimising the risk of discrimination in the workplace.
