With a majority of people in the UK open to the idea of flexible working, employers have started to recognise the benefits that alternative hours may have on their employees.
A recent survey by AdviserPlus, reveals just how important the concept is to UK employees. Just one in three of UK workers are happy with their current working hours, and a massive 63% said they would prioritise a better work-life balance over their pay.
Employers now recognise the demand for a better work-life balance and the benefits it can have such as, improving employee productivity, performance and a better staff retention rate.
The study also shows almost one in ten women felt forced to leave their job over childcare commitments, but it’s not just employees that can benefit from flexible working. Evidence suggests that working from home can have a positive impact on the environment too, by dramatically reducing carbon footprint.
