Indeed are Switching Off Free Traffic for Recruitment Agencies – Webcast

In August we talked about how Indeed.com are understood to be turning off ‘organic’ (free) candidate traffic soon.   The survey we conducted suggested many recruiters were concerned about what’s about to happen so in September we shared a few suggested things you should be doing.

Today, I ran a live chat/webcast show with Thomas Prince of Talent Nexus to talk about this in more detail and to share his tips of what action recruiters should be taking right now.  It was a jam packed 30 minute show with many audience questions.  You can watch it here.

If you are concerned about what’s about to happen, here are your next steps:

  • Don’t make any changes to your current feed of jobs or submit a new feed, because Indeed have started to decline new feeds from agencies.
  • Find out how many candidates you receive from organic Indeed traffic, and how much placement revenue they generate. This is the money you stand to lose.
  • Look at how you would replace those candidates. Indeed.com are one of around 30 mainstream aggregators in the marketplace, so when you start paying for traffic you have plenty of options to consider. A programmatic recruitment ad agency can help you understand how much you need to invest to ‘make up’ for the loss of candidates.
  • Be ready EARLY. When Indeed.com turned off organic traffic for recruitment consultancies in the US, it led to a market-wide stampede as agencies clamoured to sign up with programmatic recruitment agencies. In the UK there are a relatively small number of agencies who specialise in this field, and you want to get setup before they get inundated.

If you want any clarification or further advice do get in touch with Thomas at thomas.prince@talentnexus.com as a starting point.

Additionally, we are thrilled the Talent Nexus will be joining us on 13th November at The Recruitment Conference – so you can meet the team there too.
