The Apprentice 2013 Episode 9: the one with the meals on wheels and a ‘popty ping’

apprentice9We are very pleased to have Billie Graham of Cranberry Panda back watching The Apprentice on our behalf and for your entertainment.  These are the ones she has reviewed so far; Setting the tone in episode’s one and two,  Episode 3: the one with the poxy boxy and the sales orgasmEpisode 4: the one with the milkshakes and the fruity cow…Episode 5: the one without data roaming in Dubai and Episode 6: the one with the £300 plastic flamingo.  Louise’s from UK Recruiter had to do last week’s; The Apprentice 2013 Episode 8: the one where Louise had to write the review…

Firstly, I’m sending a very grateful hat tip to Lou for writing last week’s review. It’s no coincidence that The Apprentice lost 300,000 viewers. I think Lou should indubitably write more often, as I’m evidently encouraging you fools to tune in.

For this episode, I chose not to nominate a word because by the time I pick a word, I’ve wasted four minutes of valuable swigging time. Instead I’ve constructed a list of variables to spice shizzle up. View the list here and if you insist on watching this crap, do play by the rules.

Al told them that ready meals are all the rage, a few episodes after their fresh produce farm shops failed miserably. Funny that. So their brief was to produce ready meals aimed at kids.

Team Leader for Evolve was Neil and Alex was Endeavour’s. Nobody can cook on Neil’s team so it’s already a great start. Evolve mix Caribbean chicken with thai noodles and call their product ‘Oh my pow’. Endeavour call their product ‘Deadly Dinners’. How can you name a meal ‘Deadly Dinners’? Surely ‘Salmonella’ would have been just as marketable.

Endeavour learnt very quickly, but still too late, that kids might love gruesome food but their parents don’t. Buying a Deadly Dinner for your tea? About £3. Asking the head buyer of Asda how to switch on a Popty Ping? Priceless. Putting skulls all over the packaging wasn’t their best idea either.

Endeavour lost and Al sent Alex back to Transylvania.

Quote of the show:

“Can you burn chicken?” – I told you no one could cook on Team Evolve.
